VALE Bev Gaudion
VALE Bev Gaudion
It is with sad and heavy hearts that we share with the community the passing of one of our long-serving, dedicated Life Members, Bev Gaudion.
For so many of us when we think of a well-run competition, we think of the talents, commitment and fervent approach of Bev. Bev’s presence over the years at both State Championship Competitions and Mountain District Calisthenics Competitions was a constant that we all came to rely upon; her knowledge and passion for our sport undeniable.
Bev’s outstanding contributions to calisthenics in Victoria were celebrated by the wider Victorian sporting community, when she was awarded the Victorian Government’s 2014 Service to Sport and Active Recreation Award, and then by the Prime Minister of Australia when she received the Australian Sports Medal of Sporting Achievement.
Within our community we know that she impacted so many pupils, coaches and volunteers over her many, many years and will be held in their hearts and memories forever.
Bev’s long list of service to her beloved sport includes:
– Volunteering with CaliVic for more than 50 years
– Founder and Principal Coach at Ashgrove Calisthenics Club
– Life Member of VCCA
– Life Member of CaliVic
– Manager of the State Championships Committee
– Member of the VCCA Committee
– Convenor of Mountain District Calisthenics Competition
– Member of the CaliVic Committee of Management
Bev will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by our calisthenics community, and we send our deepest condolences to her children and family.
