The Roles
CaliVic calls for expressions of interest for two vacant positions of Board Director with immediate effect. These appointments may be for two or three years, with the potential for reappointment for subsequent terms.
Currently the board meets seven times a year, with occasional additional meetings for development and Strategic Planning Workshop. Directors may also be required to serve on a sub-committee. Meetings are a mix of face to face and virtual.

Who You Are
Prospective Directors will need to meet criteria outlined in the Corporations Act 2001 and Calisthenics Victoria’s Constitution.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate experience and/or understanding of:
- The leadership role of a Board and its Directors
- The capacity to focus on the strategic direction of the organisation.
- The value of good governance.
- An appreciation for, and understanding of, the role that community sport plays in Victoria.
- The application of corporate governance principles in a commercial enterprise, not-for-profit enterprise, or other regulatory entity.
- Ability to identify key risks to Calisthenics Victoria.
Previous experience on a Board would be welcomed.
Desirable Skills
To maximise skill mix across the CaliVic Board, applicants with one or more of the following will be highly regarded:
Board Leadership
CaliVic is focused on developing its board members. A desire to learn and develop board leadership capability over time is an attribute of all CaliVic Board members. Many of our Directors hold positions as sub-committee leaders and/or board leadership positions (e.g. Chair).
Financial Performance
Qualifications and experience in accounting and/or finance and the ability to analyse key financial statements, critically assess financial viability, liquidity, performance and contribute to strategic financial planning.
Commercial Experience
A broad range of commercial/business experience, preferably in the small to medium enterprise context, in areas including communications, marketing, branding and business systems, practices and improvement.
Expertise in Sporting organisations including National, State, Local Government Authority, or Not for Profit
Experience as a Director or Senior Manager in a sporting organisation (outside of Calisthenics).
Human Resource Management
Qualification and experience in human resource management with an understanding of the Sports Industry, Not-for-Profit Associations, and Employment Law.
People Development
Experience in managing and developing senior talent including development of KPIs and performance plans, remuneration reviews, performance management and informal coaching.
