Foundation Course FAQs

Why am I not getting the link when I register through RevSport?

Once your registration is received by CaliVic, it will then be entered into the ETrainU CaliAcademy and you will then receive the link from them via email. Please note this may take a day or two from registration via RevSport.

I registered with RevSport over the weekend, why am I not getting the link?

As your registration must be entered manually into ETrainU, this will be done on Monday morning when the office staff can complete this.

I did the Foundation Course in 2023, do I need to do this Foundation Coaching Course?

No, because you are already qualified as a Foundation Coach

I did the Preliminary Course in 2023 and did not have time to complete the Foundation course.  Do I need to do this Foundation Course?

No, anyone who did the Preliminary Course or Foundation course in 2023 does not need to do the new Foundation Course.

I did the Foundation Course in 2023, and now I’m reading that 20 hours have to be completed.  Do I need to complete 20 hours?

If you did the Foundation Course or Preliminary Course in 2023 or earlier, you do not need to complete the 20 practical hours and you will be able to register for the next Development Course if you wish to.

How much does it cost to complete the new Foundation Course?

It is $90. And this includes $50 for the course and $40 for your coaching registration.

When I registered this year, I registered as a Performer and a Foundation Coach but I can’t seem to enrol in the Foundation Coaching course on RevSport?

This is because you should have registered as a Performer only as you are not a Foundation Coach until you have received the qualification.  You’ll need to contact CaliVic to have your membership changed and you’ll be able to obtain a refund for the extra $40 you have paid. Please email Iolanda - iolanda.coffa@calisthenics.asn.au

I had already submitted my SIA certificate through to CaliVic, do I have to submit it through ETrainU?

Yes you do as it’s a prerequisite to continue with the course.

I completed the course on ETrainU, now what happens?

Your accreditation will be updated on RevSport by the CaliVic team, and you’ll receive an email notification with the next steps and also your 20 hour sheet for practical coaching (if you wish to complete the Development Course).

I have been helping/assisting teams all year, can I backtrack my practical coaching from the start of the year?

No you can only start recording your 20 hours once you receive the paperwork from CaliVic and hours cannot be backtracked.

Development Course FAQs

I am currently a Foundation Coach, how can I continue on to do the Development Course?

Once you are a qualified Foundation Coach, you will be able to enrol in the Development Course via RevSport.

I’m waiting to complete my level 1, when will this be on offer?

The level 1 course is now called the Development Course.

I read you have to do 20 hours of practical coaching after the Foundation Course and the Development Course is this correct?

That is correct, you must do 20 of practical coaching prior to (except those who completed their Foundation qualification in 2023) and after the Development Course to gain the Development Coaching Accreditation. This ties in to the requirement of doing 40 hours for the previous Level 1 course.  It has now been broken up into 2 groups of 20 hours. These hours can only be accrued at classes.

I have just completed the new Foundation coaching course on ETrainU and I want to do the Development Coaching course, but I don’t think I’ll be able to complete my 20 hours before it comes out.  Can I still do the course?

Yes, for this year only you’ll still be able to complete the Development Course however will still need to obtain 40 hours of practical coaching before being accrediated as a Development Coach.

What happens if I can’t attend the Development Course on the date it’s offered?

That’s ok, there will be another one at the end of the year that you can attend.

When is the next course for Development Coaching?

This is a new course with many modules that have been completed by various coaches.  We are making sure that everything is ready to go so that you gain the best experience and knowledge from these presenters.  With competitions starting soon, it is very difficult to time all course modules with coaches due to their commitments and competition timetables. Therefore the next course will be available as follows

  1. Core Modules - Saturday 13th July
  2. Online Lighting Core Module - will be available September to be completed online
  3. Additional add on modules - to be held in October November

Each Foundation coach is required to complete all Core Modules plus at least one of the Additional add on modules depending on what they want to coach. For more information on the modules please read through the Coach Accreditation Framework.
