Go Fund Leawarra Calisthenics Club

Leawarra Calisthenics Club was formed in 1989 as a result of the merge between Langwarrin Calisthenics Club and Frankston City Calisthenics Club. They are a ‘not for profit’ organisation, ran entirely by a committee of volunteers. At Leawarra, many of its members have served the club for over 20 years; they also have several second generation family members competing. This is a testament to the environment and community they provide their members aged between 3 and 40+.

Leawarra are required to move from its purpose built studio that has been  enjoyed for the past 8 years by December. After unsuccessfully canvasing all schools and church halls in the area for hall availability, as well as meeting with council to discuss its future, they have leased a factory in Seaford. Moving is a huge expense for the club. Any type of physical fitness performed indoors requires a floor that moves and “springs” to reduce injuries. They cannot continue as a club unless they have a sprung floor to practice on.

Leawarra Calisthenic Club fundraisers during the year so that its costs to members are kept to a minimum. Moving to a new premises at such short notice will be a struggle financially and they will need all the help they can get to ensure the survival of our club.

They appreciate and would be so thankful for any help given towards the cost of the floor and would love for Leawarra to continue for another 30 years so that those in the community that enjoy doing a team sport like calisthenics, can do so.
