Media Release: Performers for the title of State Champion

More than 1000 calisthenics performers, coaches, families and support crew will descend on the city of Bendigo over the school holidays, to fight it out for the ultimate title of ‘State Champion’.

Calisthenics Victoria will host several divisions of the Victorian State Championship competitions at the Ulumbarra Theatre, as part of an ongoing partnership with the City of Greater Bendigo.

“Our performers have been rehearsing all year and have competed at local competitions in preparation for their State Championships in Bendigo,” said Calisthenics Victoria’s CEO, Liam Murphy.

“Our clubs and crew look forward to their visit to Bendigo with excitement and anticipation for the big competition.”

Competitions run from 27 September – 3 October with performers aged from 8 years to Senior competitors taking the stage throughout the week.

“We are extremely grateful for our partnership with the City of Greater Bendigo, and for the professional services we receive from the team at the theatre. It is a beautiful venue for both audiences and performers to enjoy,” said Mr Murphy.

Calisthenics is the sport with performing at its heart. It offers a unique combination of dancing, singing, gymnastics and technical skill, developing strong, confident leaders through friendship and teamwork and has more than 8,000 performers across Victoria.
